So Mega Moguls Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Rupert Murdoch, Sumner Redstone, Sergey Brin, Mark Zuckerberg and Diane von Furstenberg are checking LeBron James for more than his moves on the basketball court.
The Cleveland Cavaliers ball player is a verified Mogul in his own right and is building a sports and financial empire.
He is expected to be in high demand at this year’s annual Allen & Co. 5 day conference in Sun Valley, Idaho.
With more than 260 old and new media chieftains, investment bankers, venture capitalists, politicians, agents and academics the Sun Valley Conference is the premier media power event of the year.
In between rafting, knitting, yoga, chess and bridge (Buffett’s a big bridge player), big deals are known to have been hatched during the conference’s 26-year history. Though the press has swarmed on Sun Valley, what actually goes on in the Conference is a mystery to all but it’s attendees.
Like “Fight Club,” the first rule of the Allen & Co. conference is you don’t talk about the Allen & Co. conference. The event is closed to press and attendees are discouraged from even acknowledging whether they’re attending and talking about the conference. Even the agenda is clouded in mystery, with the preliminary schedule that went out to attendees late last week providing scant details on which companies are making presentations – L.A Times
